About
Written under a pen name, on purpose
R. Calder is a pen name. Everything else on this page is true, and it explains why that trade is worth making.
What's true
- Australian, and writes AU-first because most payment guidance online silently assumes you're American.
- Works with subscription creators on the business side (pricing, retention, revenue systems), which is where the obsession with payout mechanics comes from.
- Not an accountant and not a financial adviser, and the site never pretends otherwise. The tax pages map the territory and then tell you to see a professional, because that's the correct advice.
Why a pen name
Nearly everyone in the adult-creator economy works under a chosen name, creators most of all. The stigma that makes it necessary for them applies to the service layer too. We'd rather publish carefully verified work under a pen name than thin work under a real one. And we've tried to make trust not depend on the byline at all: every claim links its source, every table carries its verification date, and the methodology page spells out exactly how money does and doesn't flow through this site. Check the receipts, not the name.
What this site is for
Accurate answers about getting paid as a creator, with the verification work shown. Payouts, processor policies, off-platform merchant accounts, Australian tax basics. If a page saves you one frozen account or one ATO surprise, it did its job.
Contact: corrections and suggestions via the address on the methodology page.
